The Justelos Method

How Justelos works

Justelos is an intellectual property practice based in Dhaka. We advise and act for businesses, entrepreneurs and creators on trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial designs, geographical indications, licensing and enforcement.

Our method is designed to give every client three things: clear advice at the start, a written plan with fixed steps and fees, and consistent follow-through until the matter is complete. Each matter is handled by one responsible advocate, and clients can follow progress at any time through the User Portal.

Client journey

How a matter progresses

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

The client contacts us by WhatsApp, phone or in writing. This first consultation is free. We take details of the business and the question, and confirm whether and how we can help.

  2. 02

    Assessment and written scope

We identify the assets that need protection and run the necessary searches. The client then receives a written recommendation setting out the protection required, the steps, the expected timeline, and government and professional fees shown separately.

  3. 03

    Instruction and documents

Once the client approves the scope, we assign a responsible advocate. The client signs the power of attorney and supplies the documents required. Signing can be completed digitally.

  4. 04

    Filing and prosecution

We file the applications with the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks or the Copyright Office, respond to examination reports, attend hearings and follow each application through publication to registration. Every stage is recorded in the User Portal.

  5. 05

    Ongoing protection

After registration we track renewal dates, watch the Trademarks Journal and the market for conflicting marks, support licensing and commercial use, and take enforcement action when required. Each portfolio is reviewed with the client once a year.

Clear advice. Correct filings. Timely action. Continuous protection.

Successful Stories

Matters from our practice, told with client details kept confidential. Examples marked as illustrative show typical engagements.

Trademark · Secure

Two brand names, two classes, one launch

Financial services · 360° stages: Clear, Secure
Challenge
A brokerage was launching a trading service and an app under two new names and needed both protected before going public.
Approach
A preliminary search confirmed availability. We filed four applications, covering financial services and software for each name, with one roadmap and stage-wise costs agreed upfront.
Outcome
A clear filing-to-certificate plan, with the client able to use the ™ symbol from the date of filing.
Opposition · Defend

Stopping a look-alike at the Journal

Hospitality · 360° stage: Defend
Challenge
A resort found a near-identical name advertised in the Trademarks Journal by an unrelated applicant.
Approach
We filed an opposition within the statutory window, supported by evidence of prior use and reputation.
Outcome
The client's objection was placed on record within time, so the conflicting mark cannot proceed unchallenged.
Copyright · Defend · Illustrative

A designer reclaims her artwork online

Creative industries · 360° stages: Secure, Defend
Challenge
An independent designer's illustrations were being sold on products by online pages without permission.
Approach
Copyright registration, a formal legal notice and platform takedown reports, backed by dated original files.
Outcome
The typical result: infringing listings removed, and future use of the work licensed on written terms.
